Standardized

Jump to: navigation, search

One that has been run, usually repeatedly between revisions, on a specified population that matches the one for which it is said to be standardized. Today it is expected that such tests will be accompanied by a table that will locate any test score as in a certain percentile rank in that population, which places extra requirements on the size of the standardization procedure. These tests are not culture-free and are sufficiently hard for non-native speakers of the language used in them that they will give misleading results for such testees. However, these errors are not enormous and can be reduced by avoiding the sole use of one such test.
