Networking

The practice of establishing social, business, or informational contacts to whom one can address requests for assistance when needed; requires reciprocity to avoid exploitation. Networking is an important benefit from attending professional meetings or trainings, by comparison with taking (typical) online courses or 'conferences.' The term also applies to computers that are linked for purposes of information and/or application exchange, or cooperative operation.
