Conclusions

The bottom line of the evaluation which is typically an evaluative conclusion about the worth, merit, or significance of the evaluand. It sometimes also provides explanations of what went wrong or why things worked so well; and/or recommendations about what should be done next. These 'extras,' often expected by the client and often considered by evaluators to be part of the job, are in fact, while sometimes obviously enough implied by the available data, sometimes require a great deal of further knowledge about the evaluand beyond what evaluators normally have access to, and should therefore be looked at very carefully by clients and audiences for shaky assumptions.
