Community

A group of people that are geographically or sociologically related. They are typically the principal focus of an impact study, which is normally part of a program evaluation (although some evaluations look at no more than this part of the story). A community is sometimes described by using a 'community profile'-a chart or table displaying the status of the community on a number of dimensions such as educational level, income level, unemployment level, church and charity support, and other demographic dimensions such as age, school-age children, etc.
